Yaya Toure is doubtful Main Opponent Sunderland
Manchester – lack of good news to come after the offset Burnley Manchester City last night. Their midfielder, Yaya Toure, undoubtedly play in the game contra Sunderland as a tourniquet injury.
Yaya has been absent when the City offset 2-2 by Sunderland. Had first two-goal lead in the first half, the City had to settle for an additional one point and failed to get closer to the top standings, Chelsea.
After the game, Manuel Pellegrini as manager of the Citizens call Yaya sidelined with groin muscle problem. Then it Pellegrini chose to rest him although it can be Yaya play, with the risk of injury from getting worse.
Now the club will conduct further investigation earlier this week, to know Yaya chance to play in the next game against Sunderland on Thursday (1/1) future.
“Yaya Toure could not play for 90 minutes (against Burnley). It would be risky if he plays, but then again it’s very risky,” Pellegrini said as quoted by Soccerway.
“Players who play against Burnley are the players that fit to play,” he continued.
“Yaya started to feel pain in the beginning of the last match against West Brom, he can not perform 100 percent fit. I think it’s better he does not play today.”
“We’ll see if he can play in the game against Sunderland, we hope he can play because of the injury is not so severe, but it was too risky for the injury if he was already playing again within 48 hours,” said Pellegrini.
Yaya this season has appeared 25 times in all competitions and made eight goals.
